quiz
Upcoming HW: 4.7 #2,4,6,8,10,12,16,22,30,34
Applied Project hints:
For (#1): You need to solve for a,b,c,d in terms of h and l. You have
4 variables, so you need 4 equations. Try: P(0) = 0, P(l) = h, P'(0) = 0
(why?), P'(l) = 0 (why?).
For (#2): Write x = f(t). What is dx/dt? Write y = P(x) = P(f(t)).
What is dy/dt? What is the second derivative d^2(y)/dt^2?
